Our story
We are two sisters based on the South Coast of England who decided to collaborate creatively and make a business together in late 2019. We began by designing patterns for a third party subscription service. Alongside it we designed and made our own products and took them to local markets, started to sell our products online, and began running small sewing workshops. Sew Cosy Patterns was formed!
 

We make inspiring sewing and embroidery kits, accessories, patterns and tutorials that everyone can express themselves with and enjoy - from beginners to long-time sewists. Check out our products or find us in select stores in East Sussex.

The process
Starting with an idea, we design, illustrate and print fabrics for kits and embroidery patterns, and we design, draft, print and fold all our own physical patterns to ensure they're easy to use and enjoyable. We embarked on carpentry to make our own hand made embroidery stands, point turners, and clappers. We enjoy the process of creating things from scratch! 

Sustainability and the planet
Sustainability is important to us and a consideration to every product we make.
We do not use animal products with the exception of recycled felt to back our embroideries. This does not have to be included in your kit, just let us know.
We make sure to use local printers and national suppliers where possible. We use environmentally certified embroidery floss for all our stitchwork.  FSC All our packaging is eco-friendly kraft paper or biodegradable plastic postage bags. If you would prefer to skip the bag, let us know with your order, and we'll send in original cardboard packaging where possible. 
 

Our stance on AI
Sew Cosy Patterns is a human company. We don't use Gen AI in our artwork, designs, text copy, packaging or final products. If you have found AI being used by a third party to advertise our products, feel free to let us know.
